Ceylon Yellow Sapphires are bright and do not exhibit a mixture of Green. Yellow Sapphires are the second most abundantly found sapphires in Sri Lanka. Yellow Sapphire is a gem of the corundum family and it is a twin of Ruby and Blue Sapphire. The color of Yellow Sapphire is by Iron and Titanium. The highest quality is known to be of Lemon Yellow color. Yellow Sapphire occurs in different colors ranging from Pale Yellow, Bright Lemon to Golden Yellow. As usual sapphires, it has a Mohs hardness scale value of 9.0 and a chemical composition of Al2O3. Often the Yellow Sapphires are heat-treated to increase the color saturation and clarity. Star Sapphire
